Information on General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)
Information on General Data Protection Regulation GDPR
A new European Data Protection law, the General Data Protection Regulation law, (GDPR) was introduced on 25th May 2018. This new law applies to any organisation, including our parish that manages and processes people’s personal information. We are now working on ways of ensuring that what we do with your information is compliant with the new law. It is a work in progress and over the next few months we will keep you informed through the parish website and in the newsletter as policies are put in place.
BAPTISMS Under the new regulations parents or individuals requesting a copy of a Baptism Certificate for themselves or their children must call in person to the Parish Office, produce a photographic identification and sign a Baptism request form. They can also nominate another person to collect the Certificate by signing an authorisation form and must also produce photographic ID. No certificate can be sent by post. Parents requesting to have their children baptised, under GDPR, must now sign a privacy statement, produce a copy of child’s birth certificate and attend the pre-baptism meeting.
