Week of Prayer for Christian Unity
CHRISTIAN UNITY WEEK 18th- 25th JANUARY
At least once a year, Christians are reminded of Jesus’ prayer for his disciples that “they may be one so that the world may believe” (see John 17.21) Each year we dedicate eight days of Prayer, Reflection and Fraternity as we celebrate, as Christians, our common faith, and work together towards unity and co-operation in living and spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We have more that unites us than divides us. Christian Unit Week takes place from 18th to 25th January The theme for the week of prayer in 2020 “Unusual Kindness”
Our Clontarf service takes place in St. Gabriel’s Catholic Church on Sunday 19th January at 3pm. The main speaker will be Dom Mark Patrick Hederman OSB, former Abbot of Glenstal Abbey, Limerick. He is a Benedictine Monk, teacher, lecturer and writer. He is well worth hearing on the issues facing our Churches in Ireland at this time. Your presence is an act of solidarity with each other, as we pray for healing, unity and a richness of faith in our diversity.
