Confirmation

The word Confirmation comes from the Latin word confirmare meaning to strengthen. This sacrament strengthens baptised Christians and through the power of the Holy Spirit helps them as they try to be active, caring followers of Jesus Christ. At Confirmation, the Bishop of Priest, completes or confirms the process of initiation into the Christian community begun at Baptism.

PARISH ARRANGEMENTS FOR THE SACRAMENT OF CONFIRMATION
The children from the Parish receive this Sacrament during a special Mass held once a year. Children are prepared through a special programme within their school throughout the year. The start of this preparation is marked by an Enrolment Ceremony in the Parish, when the candidates receive a certificate and are promised the support of their community as they prepare to receive the Holy Spirit in the Sacrament of Confirmation.
